2023 REVIEW, WHAT'S NEW IN 2024?
Lessons learned from the past, and challenges awaiting in the future
2023 has gone by a bit too quickly! I sometimes feel like there’s too much to do and too little time. There have been ups and downs throughout the year of course. But the most painful thing was to experience a very slowed growth on YouTube. It’s been a struggle getting it back up and being consistent with the videos. The algorithms favor quantity and consistency, and I’ve been unable to meet those standards.
Not saying that 2023 wasn’t a good year at all! Things have been going well at my company i.e. Rayven Studios. Here’s what we managed to do these things:
We moved to a new and improved office space.
Grew to a total number of 15 people, which is nuts!
Managed to create a dedicated short-form content team for the studio.
Got to work on some of the biggest projects to date.
Here are some lessons learned from 2023:
I thought more team members meant less work for me, but it was quite the opposite mainly because I was trying to do everything on my own.
More management means less time to sit down and create art. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do, but sometimes I wish I had the time to draw more.
I give myself too many goals to hit, too many targets to achieve; which means that I end up hitting none. I should be able to give myself realistic and specific targets.
Here are the main quests for 2024:
Need to learn to trust and delegate more, so that I can have some more time to indulge myself in the things that bring me joy.
Need to figure out the best way to become consistent at making content that I like and enjoy; without stressing too much about the numbers.
Need to provide more value to other aspiring artists, hopefully inspiring them and helping them with their art journeys.
I’ll try to share some insights, challenges, and strategies along the way. Stay tuned! And make sure you follow my Studios’s Instagram page for some cool content!
